GAZELEY IMPRESSES AT MIDLANDS PROPERTY AWARDS

Gazeley, global provider of sustainable logistics, has added to its plethora of awards by winning the Sustainability Award for its cutting edge flagship development G.Park Blue Planet, Chatterley Valley, at the Insider Property Awards Midlands.

The awards aim to showcase developments in the Midlands region and recognise excellence in the property industry. The Sustainability Award recognises Gazeley’s innovative efforts in achieving BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) “Outstanding” (design stage) rating for the scheme.

Jonathan Fenton-Jones, Director of Sustainability and Global Procurement at Gazeley said, “The impressive array of awards G.Park Blue Planet has received is testament to its innovative eco features and cutting edge design. Delivering significant positive environmental impacts as well as total energy and water cost in use savings of up to £300,000 per annum, the scheme raises the bar for the UK logistics building sector”.

The success of G.Park Blue Planet, a blue print for Gazeley moving forward in partnership with parent company EZW, has been widely recognised, winning six other accolades this year. Most recently the development received an Estates Gazette Green Award, while Gazeley also triumphed in the Best Industrial Development category at the UK Commercial Property Awards1.

G.Park Blue Planet at Chatterley Valley is a 36,024 sq m development, which houses the UK’s first truly carbon positive logistics development achieved without offsetting. What sets this development apart is that 100% of the energy and heat is supplied by renewable sources. This has helped it exceed the UK Governments Climate Change Bill targets for both 2020 and 2050 in 2009.
