Gazeley Commits to Full-Scale Development in China

Shanghai – June 17, 2008: Gazeley, the global leading sustainable logistics space developer announced today at Transport Logistic China 2008 that it will deliver its 43,000–square-meter distribution center in Jiaxing to Wal-Mart in October this year. Also, Gazeley announced that its 24,000–square-meter speculative building in Kunshan and Phase I construction in Nanjing are expected to be completed in October 2008 and Q2 2009 respectively.

Situated in Nanjing's Jiangning Science Park, G. Park Nanjing totals 59,000-square-meter. The site is located at the intersection of the Nanjing-Hangzhou highway, state highway 104 and Nanjing 2nd ring road (scheduled for completion in June 2008). It is also very close to the main Shanghai-Nanjing expressway. It is 23 km from Nanjing international airport, 20 km from downtown Nanjing, 20 km from Nanjing Railway station, and 22 km from Xingshengwei Port. At present there are many D (express) trains running from Shanghai to Nanjing every day. It takes only 2 hours 10 minutes to travel from Nanjing to downtown Shanghai. G. Park Nanjing boasts various strategic advantages, namely transportation, geographic location and market development, all of which can be taken advantage of after its completion, providing advanced distribution services for the many multinational companies in the park.

Gazeley signed an agreement with Kunshan Trade & Logistics Park for its 24.1 acre (146.3 mu) site in Kunshan, on which it will develop a 53,000–square-meter warehousing space. Located in the northern part of the park, the site is 5 km from the exit of the Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway. There are five other major highways running through Kunshan, as well as connections to the Shanghai-Nanjing Railway and Beijing-Shanghai Express Railway (which will be completed in 2010). At present there are 15 D (express) trains running from Shanghai to Kunshan every day, by which it takes only 18 minutes to travel from Kunshan to downtown Shanghai.

Phase I of G. Park Jiaxing will be delivered in October 2008. The site is located close to Shanghai, Hangzhou and Ningbo, putting it at the centre of the Yangtze River Delta, one of the most dynamic and fastest growing economies in China. Also, the Hangzhou Bay Transoceanic Bridge, opened on May 1st, adding greater convenience in linking the logistics site in Jiaxing to the important port of Ningbo. With its advantageous geographic location and transportation connections, G. Park Jiaxing will serve the markets in the surrounding areas well. While contributing to the improvement of the immature local industrial infrastructure and helping the local logistics industry achieve fast growth, Gazeley will help support Jiaxing become a major regional distribution centre of the Yangtze River Delta with advantages above and beyond other cities in the region.

“Gazeley has four logistics sites now in China: Kunshan, Nanjing, Jiaxing of the Yangtze River Delta and Tianjin of the Bohai Sea Ring Region,” said Jack Yang, Managing Director of Gazeley China, “Gazeley is committed to acquiring new land in cities like Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu and Beijing so as to expand its business into the other major logistic areas such as the Pear River Delta, as well as central and western China, while further enhancing its leadership position in northern China.”

As a global provider of logistics space delivered in a sustainable way, Gazeley has developed cost-effective, high-quality and environmentally-friendly distribution warehouses and industrial space for leading international companies and third-party logistics providers.
