Gazeley is developing a speculative warehouse at Magna Park Arras in Nord Pas-de-Calais, that will be an exemplar project for green development in France.

The proposed 36,000 sq m (387,500 sq ft) building is the result of a collaborative programme for a new generation of eco-friendly buildings in France.

Gazeley has been working with Afilog - the association of French logistics developers, operators and suppliers - to produce a national benchmark for green distribution buildings, that was finalised in November 2007.

The warehouse will be the first development to meet all the requirements agreed with Afilog.

Speculative development is comparatively uncommon in France, however the 152ha (376 acre) distribution park is strategically well located for logisticians, and experience has proven that the building's sustainable credentials will prove extremely attractive for customers.
